Benjamin Pant grew up in the United Kingdom and Nepal and studied with Thomas Kemp at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. An Erasmus exchange year took him to the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, where he studied with Donata Sailer. Further artistic inspiration came through private tuition with Martin Funda and, since 2021, with Ikki Opitz.
From 2019 to 2021, he was a member of the Dual Orchestral Academy of Thuringia (Jena Philharmonic and Theater Altenburg Gera).
In the 2024/2025 season, he held a fixed-term position with the MDR Symphony Orchestra. Before that, he held fixed-term positions with the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin from 2022 to 2024.
As a freelance orchestral musician, Benjamin regularly performs with the MDR Symphony Orchestra and the NDR Radiophilharmonie, and works as a substitute / regular guest with the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. In August 2026, he prepared the first violin section of the Ulster Youth Orchestra for its Young Euro Classic concert.
Since 2019, he has performed regularly with dogma chamber orchestra, including on its recording of Mendelssohn’s String Symphonies, which received the OPUS KLASSIK award in 2019.
Benjamin has been a member of the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin since 2022. He plays a violin by the German luthier Dominik Wlk.
