Benjamin Pant

Biography

Volinist Benjamin Pant grew up in the United Kingdom and Nepal. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Thomas Kemp and spent an Erasmus year at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, where he studied with Donata Sailer. Further artistic guidance came through private study with Martin Funda and, since 2021, with Ikki Opitz.

From 2019 to 2021, he was a member of the Dual Orchestral Academy of Thuringia (Jena Philharmonic Orchestra and Theater Altenburg-Gera).

In the 2024/2025 season, he held a temporary position with the MDR Symphony Orchestra. Prior to this, he worked with the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin from 2022 to 2024 on temporary contracts.

As a freelance orchestral musician, he collaborates regularly with the MDR Symphony Orchestra ,the NDR Radiophilharmonie and the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, and appears as a guest with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra.

He has also been performing as a regular guest with the dogma
chamber orchestra since 2019, including on a CD recording of Mendelssohn’s string symphonies, which won an Echo Klassik award.

Since 2022, Benjamin has been a member of the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin.
